The most important part of creating and living in a space faring society, is having a population with enough people that are ready and willing to live and work in space. That means people with the requisite intelligence and aptitude, education, training, and experience required to live and work in space and on the surface of other worlds, in safe and effective ways.
Some of the area of knowledge, Understanding, and experience includes, Mathematics, Engineering, Technology, Aeronautical, Mechanical; Cosmology as it relates to Astronomy, Astronomy, Physics and Astrophysics, Geology; Systems Interaction, Programming and Application Development, Equipment Operations; Self Expression, Writing, Technical Writing, Report Writing, Communications and Presentation; Team Skills, Leadership, Individual Integrity, Management Skills, Analytical Skills, Valuation Skills ; Altruistic, Self-Preservation, Ability to Understand and Embrace the Big Picture, Detail Orientated; Physically Fit, Stress Management, must be at home in confined spaces, must be comfortable alone and in small close net groups, just to name a few of many.
Everyone will not need to have a PhD or even a degree in each of these areas. However, some will. But everyone will need to have a basic understanding of all of these areas. What we need is for Colleges and Universities to develop courses and degree programs that will encompass what’s needed for an Officer Core and Maintenance, Employee, Worker Core. I think the Navy and other Military Services would be a great Resource and Partner in this and other areas. We will also present information, knowledge and understand that anyone needs, as a free individual wanting to live and work in space as a freelancer, that will help them improve their odds of survival and possibility for success and wealth generation.
